Starbucks Employee Breaks Down In Tears After They’re Scheduled To Work 8 Hours šŸ¤”

A Starbucks employee broke down in tears after being scheduled to work eight-hour shifts.

Starbucks is the worldā€™s largest coffee chain and employs nearly 400,000 people.

According to research, the majority of Starbucks employees are satisfied with their work-life balance and do not feel burnt out.

However, one barista ā€“ who is also a full-time student ā€“ has gone viral after posting an emotional video calling out management.

Apparently, they were given a 25-hour work week, which included 8-hour shifts during the weekend.

They said that alongside the treatment from management, itā€™s left them at their ā€˜witā€™s endā€™ and that theyā€™re struggling to cope.

In the video, which is now circulating onĀ Twitter, the barista says: ā€œIā€™m a full-time student, I get scheduled for 25 hours a week.

ā€œAnd then on weekends, they scheduled me the entire day, open to close, that oneā€™s scheduled for eight and half hours, both Saturday and Sunday.

ā€œIā€™m three and a half hours into my shift.

ā€œThereā€™s so many customers and we have four people on the floor all day. Only five people were put on schedule and somebody had to call out.ā€

They go on to claim that the managers ā€˜donā€™t care about usā€™ and ā€˜donā€™t want to help usā€™.

Elsewhere in the clip, the student says customers are rude and often misgender them.

They add: ā€œI donā€™t get accommodation for being neurodivergent, people get mad at me for having too much sick time.

ā€œI donā€™t even know what to do anymore, Iā€™m at my wits end with this job.ā€

The video has been shared by far-right Trump supporter Sebastian Gorka on Twitter, who mockingly tweeted: ā€œTrans Barrister has meltdown because 8 hours is too long to work on a dayā€¦ā€

Gorkaā€™s cruel post ā€“ which is being trolled for its embarrassing typo ā€“ has led to many criticising the Starbucks employee.

ā€œOh cry me a river. I drove a truck for 35 years. 12-14 hours a day,ā€ one person comments. ā€œSometimes gone for a month at a time.

ā€œSuck it up buttercup.ā€

A second says: ā€œMy husband normally works 70 hours a week and was it hard, yes but he still did it.

ā€œThis kid needs to learn what hard work is otherwise they wonā€™t be able to make it.ā€

However, many have taken to the comments and defended the barista, arguing that it would be difficult to do an eight-hour shift alongside educational studies.

One writes: ā€œHeā€™s allowed to be frustrated at Starbucks and his crappy manager not pulling their weight.

ā€œPeople keep bringing up his eight-hour shifts but working a job on top of being a full-time student would be tiring. Heā€™s having a vent, so what?ā€

Defending the student against the haters, another says: ā€œWow, you are so brave for bullying a young service worker.

ā€œA full-time college student is expected to do 2-3 hours of homework per every class hour.

ā€œSo if this kiddo is in class 15 hours a week, has 30 hours of homework, and then 25 hours of work that is a 70-hour week.ā€
