A Starbucks employee broke down in tears after being scheduled to work eight-hour shifts.
Starbucks is the worldâs largest coffee chain and employs nearly 400,000 people.
According to research, the majority of Starbucks employees are satisfied with their work-life balance and do not feel burnt out.
However, one barista â who is also a full-time student â has gone viral after posting an emotional video calling out management.

Apparently, they were given a 25-hour work week, which included 8-hour shifts during the weekend.
They said that alongside the treatment from management, itâs left them at their âwitâs endâ and that theyâre struggling to cope.
In the video, which is now circulating on Twitter, the barista says: âIâm a full-time student, I get scheduled for 25 hours a week.
âAnd then on weekends, they scheduled me the entire day, open to close, that oneâs scheduled for eight and half hours, both Saturday and Sunday.
âIâm three and a half hours into my shift.
âThereâs so many customers and we have four people on the floor all day. Only five people were put on schedule and somebody had to call out.â
They go on to claim that the managers âdonât care about usâ and âdonât want to help usâ.
Elsewhere in the clip, the student says customers are rude and often misgender them.
They add: âI donât get accommodation for being neurodivergent, people get mad at me for having too much sick time.
âI donât even know what to do anymore, Iâm at my wits end with this job.â
The video has been shared by far-right Trump supporter Sebastian Gorka on Twitter, who mockingly tweeted: âTrans Barrister has meltdown because 8 hours is too long to work on a dayâŚâ
Gorkaâs cruel post â which is being trolled for its embarrassing typo â has led to many criticising the Starbucks employee.
âOh cry me a river. I drove a truck for 35 years. 12-14 hours a day,â one person comments. âSometimes gone for a month at a time.
âSuck it up buttercup.â
A second says: âMy husband normally works 70 hours a week and was it hard, yes but he still did it.
âThis kid needs to learn what hard work is otherwise they wonât be able to make it.â
However, many have taken to the comments and defended the barista, arguing that it would be difficult to do an eight-hour shift alongside educational studies.
One writes: âHeâs allowed to be frustrated at Starbucks and his crappy manager not pulling their weight.
âPeople keep bringing up his eight-hour shifts but working a job on top of being a full-time student would be tiring. Heâs having a vent, so what?â
Defending the student against the haters, another says: âWow, you are so brave for bullying a young service worker.
âA full-time college student is expected to do 2-3 hours of homework per every class hour.
âSo if this kiddo is in class 15 hours a week, has 30 hours of homework, and then 25 hours of work that is a 70-hour week.â
