Corporal Caleb Earwood had desired a moment of prayer with his future wife before their marriage. The prayer was dedicated to their forthcoming union. As per tradition dictating that the groom should not see the bride prior to the wedding, the two chose not to make eye contact; they merely clasped hands and prayed together.
